Here's what people have said about The Mountain Monk's Chai, Cooking Classes and Food:
"Thank you Deepak for sharing your cooking skills and for all your knowledge. We all learned alot and had fun and the food was delicious! Thank you Tahl for lending us your husband for the evening. I'm looking forward to doing this again." - Ellie M.
"When you meet Deepak, you are instantly treated as an old friend. His warm personality puts you at ease instantly and his generosity will blow you away. My boyfriend and I met Deepak during a music festival. We bonded over our love of India and spoke of an Indian trip we were planning in the near future. Deepak then offered us his homemade chai. Oh my, the chai. We have now returned from our trip to India and Deepak's chai is by far the most flavorful we have tasted. You have not lived until you've had the Mountain Monk's chai, please try some. During one of our festival interactions with Deepak, he offered us some of his homemade dahl and chapatti. It too was incredible. You can taste the love, joy and warmth of India in his cooking. He creates ayruvedic inspired dishes, so healthy eating is a key attribute in his kitchen. Our most recent visit with Deepak provided us the opportunity to enjoy butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, two different types of dahl, coconut rice and naan bread, from the kitchen of A Fine Balance Catering and Café. Everything was delicious. I absolutely recommend Deepak and his cooking. I promise you will fall in love with his culinary skills and his beautiful soul." - Deanna O.
"Man alive! Some friends of mine, my husband and I just had a cooking class with Deepak at the restaurant, and it was such a positive experience! Being very new to Indian cooking, I wasn't sure what to expect. Instead of just telling us a recipe and having us all do individual cooking, we all took part in creating the meal. Deepak was very patient and constantly reminded us that it's all about the base of the sauce (He even gave us a way to avoid getting sick using cumin seeds!) :) Not only that, but the concept of measuring everything was tossed out the window. It was all about playing with the measurements, and figuring out what works/doesn't work for you. Great sense of humour, very comfortable setting, and many things learned. If you get the chance to take a class with this company, do it! You won't find a nicer chef to help you learn how to cook Indian food. The fresh naan bread alone was worth it. I'll never look at cumin seeds the same way again, who knew they were so useful. Thanks Deepak for a great experience! I will definitely be taking another class!" -Anna H.
"This is the best chai I've ever had. We proudly offer The Mountain Monk Masala Chai at Kali Den Lounge. Support my friend Deepak and his tea crafting artistry. Like the page and spread the love!" -Kalli M.
"Just got home after having a most wonderful evening with great company and home made curry. Thank you Deepak and family for a fantastic time. Many many thanks." Mary-Anne W.
"This provided a delicious dish for my family! I would recommend anyone to try and mix up some magic from The Mountain Monk's kitchen to yours. Terrific! The spiced chai masala is amazing. Wonderful aroma and profound flavor. Tops all the chai I have had in Calgary." - Lyndsey A.
"Although I just got back, recently, from the Kangra in the north of India, I haven't had a better Masala Chai than this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know the recipe differs from region to region in India, but this chai is so genuine and authentic to what I had always imagined a Masala chai to be. I believe it is a true representation of the healing aspects of Ayurveda, and a beautiful expression of Deepak's love for this." - Jordan C.
"I've tried both and they're both amazing! The lentil stew is really handy and quick, and is delicious. I'll definitely be returning to restock!" - Monty G.
"It was wonderful to meet you at Fozzy Fest and try your amazing Chai tea. And where can I purchase more Chai tea?"
- Michael L.
